This time too the greatest Watch and Jewelry Fair BaselWorld appears to have left no doubts regarding the firmness and steadfastness of its status to the hundred thousand visitor audience from all over the world. Indeed, where else in the world can one witness such a concentration of luxuries made by top masters of the planet, follow the latest trends in design and high technologies, utilized materials and etc.? When realizing that the handfuls resembling unrefined sugar of dimmed white color carelessly scattered on the showcases are nothing but huge diamonds weighing 40 (and t f1 hat’s by no means the limit) carat, outsider visitors get confused. To say nothing of splendid watches, all sorts of necklaces, bracelets, brooches and others amounting to over a million dollars.
At the same time Basel is annually transformed into the centre of the most wealthy and well-known businessmen dealing with watches, jewelry and raw materials from the whole world, bankers, musicians, oil barons, show business representatives and classic European aristocracy and generally the world elite.

There are ideas generated, many million contracts signed and money made here… We observe a particular world in Basel where all is absolutely possible. Even not so very rich companies like BREITLING are able to afford a 20 million Euro party… And that’s an everyday occurrence. Moreover this year there was a record number of those wishing to participate and being denied areas by the Fair organizers due to non-availability. No wonder. When similar Companies to PATEK PHILIPPE followed by BREGUET agitate the public mind by their up-to-date new-fangled models of expensive watches with rubber straps the revolutionary-creative message inevitably passes to all those in some way or another associated with this, perhaps, most beautiful handicraft in the world. There is nothing more prestigious and significant in its development than the participation in BaselWorld to any Company.  

All the more pleasant is the fact that this year unprecedentedly large number of Russian watch and jewelry Companies have exhibited their products in Basel. In my opinion, the greatest difference between this year and last year fairs lays in the fact that REKORD Company stand was not there last time. I suppose this is the principal dif ference. This year we have made a presentation of our new international watch project SOYUZ in Basel for the first time. Actually for a moment it appeared as if the whole world were speaking of our Company. Hitherto unknown to anyone SOYUZ brand became the talk of the town in an eyewink. The press representatives from various countries were standing in queues to have a chance of capturing all that was taking place and the throng of numerous visitors gathering by our stand. Many of them could hardly thread their way through the crowd to the very showcases to take photos of the gorgeous SOYUZ collection. It’s like walking along horny paths to reach the stars. And it comes as no surprise. The brightest star throughout the entire history of the Russian Playboy, Miss Anna Starykh presented our Company at the stand.

While in Basel who would have failed to notice Joseph Stalin proudly pacing along the hall 1049s with a SOYUZ trademark bag and Albert Einstein? Who were the articles of BaselWorld Daily News devoted to? That was our multi-sided Valery Pavlovich Polyakov, a popular Russian movie actor having a makeup and wearing corresponding suits and costumes.
The SOYUZ collection by the REKORD Company was an overwhelming success in Basel. Orders from clients were pouring as if out of the cornucopia.

And this is still lasting now too upon the return home. In the course of our preperation for the fair we couldn't even have dreamt of that. To my mind our designers and marketing managers appear to have succeeded in catching the basic trend in the market, in particular by offering the client not only the perfectly performed collection of complicated mechanical watches but also the brand concept, philosophy, the whole set of associations and even senses 1049. It is no secret that this trend is by no means an innovation in the World Watch Market generated just now or even some time before. Simply there are very few recently established companies managing to bring it all together in so clear and perfect a manner.
The second trend of no small importance in the Russian and World watch and jewelry markets that was easily traceable with the naked eye in Basel this year is that the contemporary client is ready to pay more. Exactly this second trend seems to be determinative in terms of the basic logic of the development for the nearest future. Consider the fact that if very lately the main motivation for purchasing a jewelry or a watch of medium and high price range has been brand reputation and fame then nowadays this is already not enough. The client is ready to save on anything else while he prefers to buy a thing that rouses his passion, cherish and attachment, the thing that he can be adoring for hours on end.
 

The expensiveness is disregarded. Manufacturer offering maximum possible feature set, added value by way of expensive (best) materials, definitely, beauty in the form of striking and oustanding design and communication of positive associations to the client by means of the products repays a hundredfold. Presently the grateful clients are ready to pay money for this. Anything average, ordinary and dull is out of fashion now even if being a fairly good a product at an advantageous price. We will make a single example. We have received the largest number of orders in value terms for our most expensive lead model SOYUZ where balance bridge is made on a tourbillion in the form of a revolving skeletonized double eagle.

This required considerable resource expenses. We could seemingly do with out that. Nevertheless, despite the high enough retail price of the product the clients were absolutely enchanted with the watches. Many famous world publishing companies and magazines have already placed this model on the pages of their editions and publications in the advertisement sections free of charge! This and other SOYUZ collection models are presented in the Russian market under our other well-known trademark REKORD.  

 
We plan to annually employ such a magnificent platform as BaselWorld in our activities. For us this is the shortest and the most efficient way towards the consumer.
